Q: Where can I find an HLR Directory?

A: Currently there are no printed directories. You can find a member on our website.


Q: Where can I get a map of HLR?

A: Each new member receives a map during Administration's New Homeowner Orientation.  If additional maps are needed, they are available at the Holly Lake Ranch Administration Office for a fee. Call 903-769-3646 for more information.


Q: Is there a Lost and Found at HLR?

A: Yes, at Security 903-769-2164 and Holly Lake Ranch Administration Office 903-769-3646.


Q: Where can I get a list of Clubs and Activities?

A: Clubs, Groups & Associations has a list and contacts for each club.


Q: Is there an Activity Calendar?

A: You can find this at the bottom of the Home Page or on the event calendar.

Q: Is there anywhere to ride a 4-wheeler or ATV?

A: No.

Q: Where can I park an RV or boat?

A: You can rent a spot at the RV/Boat storage area upon availability.  Call Administration to check on availability. See the Holly Lake Ranch Association Rules and Regulations  regarding parking RVs, watercraft and trailers on personal property.

Q: Where can I find the 911 signs on mailboxes?

A: 911 reflective address sign order forms can be found in the Administration Office. You can also obtain an order form thru the Hook and Ladder Club at the Holly Lake Ranch Volunteer Fire Department.

Q: Who can go on the golf cart paths?

A: Golf carts are allowed on the golf cart paths. No walking, running, bikes, roller blades, skates, skateboards, or cars are allowed on the golf cart paths.

Q: Where are the different walking trails?

A: See our Amenities page for detailed information.

Q: Do I need special permission to add a gazebo or deck?

A: A permit is required from the ARA, which can be obtained at the Administration Office, or on our website, Permits & Other Forms.

Q: Can I use the amenities on all of HLR? The pools? Miniature golf?

A: Yes, as long as all necessary release forms have been signed (example: fitness center), and you are a HLR member in Good Standing as described in HLRA Member Compliances in Rules and Regulations you can use all amenities/pools/miniature golf.


Q: Do I need a fishing license to fish on HLRA lakes?

A: You do not need a fishing license to fish on the private lakes within the HLRA gates.


Q: Can anyone use the beaches?

A: Holly Lake residents and their guests may use the beaches.


Q: Are there places to get drinks or snacks? A Restaurant? A Grill?

A: You can grab a bite or cocktail/beer at Whiskey's Restaurant & Bar located by the Golf Course.  The west side pool has limited drinks and snacks for purchase. 


Q: Can I get a mixed drink or beer? Where are they allowed?

A: Whiskey's Restaurant & Bar  serves alcoholic beverages to be consumed on the restaurant’s premises. Please see the Holly Lake Ranch Association Rules and Regulations for more information regarding consumption of alcoholic beverages.


Q: Do I need a key to get in the Fitness Center? Can children use as well?

A: You must obtain an access card for the fitness center from administration for a fee.   See the Holly Lake Ranch Association Rules and Regulations for specific rules.  


Q: Where is the Gun Range? What are the rules?

A: The Gun Range is located off FM 49 at the RV/Boat Storage. You must attend a mandatory class before using the Gun Range. Check with the Security Office (903-769-21654) for a list of authorized Range Officers for mandatory class. See the Holly Lake Ranch Association Rules and Regulations.


Q: What is the official law enforcement agency for Holly Lake Ranch?  How do I call them?

A: Although the Security Department (903-769-2164) enforces community compliance issues and responds to all calls for service at Holly Lake Ranch, the Wood County Sheriff's Office is the official Law Enforcement Agency.  The non-emergency number is 903-763-2201.  In case of emergency, always call 911. 


Q: Is there a noise ordinance?

A: Yes, see the Holly Lake Ranch Association Rules and Regulations.


Q: Are there regular events like fireworks, parades, fairs or boating?

A: Yes, for upcoming events check the Events Calendar.

 

Q: Are there places that have public internet access?

A: There is guest Wi-Fi at the Administration Office and Whiskey's Restaurant & Bar, 

 

Q: What is the official HLRA web site?

A: www.hollylakeranch.com 


Q: Who puts up the seasonal decorations and how are they paid for? Can I help?

A: HLRA Community Events workgroup decorates HLRA for Christmas and they are always looking for volunteers.  Some decorations have been paid for by HLRA and some have been donated.  


Q: How many committees are there? How do I become part of one?

A: There are  currently three standing committees: Finance Committee, Architectural Review Authority and Election Committee. These committee members are appointed by the Board of Directors. The Committees all have a Board liaison, a non-voting member, who acts as the connection between the Committee and Board. Additionally, as needs arise, work groups may be formed. Contact the General Manager or a member of the Board of Directors for more information. 


Q: I see personal decorative signs. Can I put one up? How do I get approval?

A: Yes, you can put up personal decorative signs, but before you do see the Holly Lake Ranch Association Rules and Regulations.


Q: Who is responsible for the deer? May I feed them? Why not?

A: Deer are wild animals and take care of themselves. We are not allowed to feed them here at HLR and can be fined. According to the Game Warden if a deer is injured and is still able to move leave them alone. If a deer is injured and cannot move call the Security Office at 903-769-2164. For more information see Holly Lake Ranch Association  Rules and Regulations regarding feeding wildlife or evidence of a feeder.


Q: Do we have a fire department? How can I help?

A: Yes, we have Holly Lake Ranch Volunteer Fire Department that is near but not a part of HLRA. To volunteer contact the Fire Hall 903-769-4341.


Q: What if I have a medical emergency? Who do I call?

A: Call 911


Q: Who do I call about a tree across a road? Fallen on an electric line? Power outage?

A: Call the Security Office (903-769-2164)  if a tree has fallen across a HLR road. If a tree has fallen on a power line call Upshur Rural Electric 903-843-2536.

 

Q: Are garage sales allowed? Can we put up signs?

A: Garage sales are allowed. Signs must be obtained by the office. A refundable $10 sign deposit per sign (maximum 4 signs) is returned upon return of signs. For more information see Holly Lake Ranch Association Rules and Regulations for more information. 


Q: Where do I get the flags I see displayed? Are there rules? How do I dispose of one?

A: The Flag Program with the Kiwanis Club sets out and picks up your flags. For more information about Kiwanis, look under Community Programs on the Clubs, Groups & Associations page.


Q: Can I get a copy of the Rules and Regulations before I buy?

A: Yes, a copy can be obtained by calling Administration 903-769-3646 or from this site Rules and Regulations.
