HOLLY COMMUNITY LIBRARY
The Holly Tree Chapel established the Library in 1978 as an “outreach service” to the community and although the Chapel provides space and utilities for the Library it is a separate entity. At that time, there were only a few books, however, today there are close to 15,000 pieces of material. The library includes books of fiction: best sellers, westerns, mysteries, Christian, large print, short stories, and science fiction; nonfiction books on all subjects; audio visuals that include books-on-tape, DVD's, CD's, movies, and travel guides; children's books as well as children's movies and “sing along” tapes.
Any item may be checked out for 2 weeks. The only requirement is one must reside in Wood county and register with us one's name, mailing address, and phone number. Our hours are Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Library is under the supervision of two trained librarians, Adelle Holland and Lin Dunham. There are 17 volunteer ladies who have also attended workshops to learn the Holly Community Library system necessary to have a functioning library. The library operates on fund raisers, donations, and memorial gifts. The fund raisers are very important to our continued operation, as we are not tax supported.
Our hours are:
Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 10-2
and
Sunday morning after chapel.
