Holly Gardeners

If you are new to the Holly Lake area, we would welcome you to attend our meetings. We are a friendly bunch of people who enjoy gardening. We have a program each month, featuring subjects of interest to gardeners and non-gardeners alike. We try to bring in speakers who are considered knowledgeable on the subject being featured.

The purpose of the Holly Gardeners  is to provide more information to its members and the surrounding community on gardening in the east Texas area. Holly Gardeners meet the last Tuesday of the month, January through May and September through October, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hall at Holly Lake.

Holly Gardeners also:

• provide six maintained trails, “take a hike” cards, trail head signs and resting benches throughout the Ranch,

• have a pass-along plant exchange program,

• go on field trips,

• provide to Holly Gardeners members a booklet “The Trees of Holly Lake Ranch” - a guide for identifying trees on your property.  Booklets are also available, for purchase, at the Library for $3.00.

• have an April plant sale featuring native and gardener grown plants at bargain prices

• adopt Holly Lake road islands for beautification,

• provide distinctive signs to members and to the community to protect wild flowers along the roadways from mowing,

• provide identification of plants at Holly Lake Ranch and at your home site.

Membership is only $10.00 (for the family) and

we hope you can join us at our next meeting.
