2009 General Rules For All Tournaments

1.            All putts to be holed out.

2.            Except for the Club Championship tournament where USGA Rules of Golf  will prevail,

            Lies may be improved:     Not more than 1 club length, no closer to the

green.                                                                     

             Balls must be “dropped from shoulder height, not placed”.

              Ball in bunker stays in bunker.

              Ball in rough stays in rough.

3.            Except for the Club Championship tournament, the 14 club rule will be waived.

4.            No refunds after deadline passes, Thursday preceding tournament, 2 p.m.

5.            Teams flighted by total handicap, where applicable.  

6.            Guests are invited to play in all tournaments, except the MGA Club Championship, Individual “Do-Over” and President’s Classic.  Guests will be required to pay the appropriate Green Fees for Each Day plus the Tournament Entry Fee.  Handicaps will be verified.  Valid handicap--Guest responsible; handicap to be sent to pro shop by fax, and picture ID may be required.  Pro shop responsible for verifying all guests handicaps.  Guests must play with invitee unless tournament format is a scramble.  In a scramble, guests are at the mercy of the computer.

7.            Some tournaments will have an optional player’s pool.  Teams can only buy themselves.  Cost is $25 per player; e.g. 2 man teams cost $50, 5 man teams cost $125, etc.  Payoffs will be paid in flights where applicable, amounts determined by number of participants.

8.            Tournament entries must be paid by check, made payable to Golf Shop.
