The golf course is in great shape and although the golf season is half over we have plenty of golf left to be played this season. We have updated the “upcoming schedule” that we post on the window, so be sure to see what's coming up next.
If you have not met our new Marshal yet, his name is Gene Patton and he is out there to benefit you in anyway possible. Also, he will be watching those who are not following the rules. . Gene will be giving out warnings and tickets to those who violate the rules. We have copies of the rules in the golf shop, if you have yet to pick yours up.
Mike who works outside is now helping in the shop for the next month before he goes to college. So if you have not yet met him, please come in and say Hi.
Joyce McConnell is the new Net Champion of the LGA. Joyce beat Ruddie Anderson in a playoff. Both ladies had a net eagle on 1 but Joyce won on the second hole with net birdie.
John Westfall is the 2008 Club Champion. This was John's fourth time to do so. The Super Super Senior was Bobby McGregor. The Super Senior Champion was Jim Armstrong and the Senior Champion was for the fifth time, was Bill Fisher. Congratulations to those and all the Flight Winners.

O.K. all you fair weather players, the Golf Shop Staff is ready to see you come play. Spring is here so it's time to work on your games and get ready for Tournament Season. If you need some golf tips to get your game back on track please talk to Daryl or I and we will get you started.
Players remember that the new starting times are at 8:45am and 1:45pm, which means you must sign up before 8:30 and 1:30. Also don't forget you still have to sign up before 8:00am on Play Days if you want to play.
As most of you have already heard we have a new marshal. The marshal will be here to make the course run more efficiently. The marshals name is Gene Patton and he will be here to keep things moving and in order.
You will be receiving updated rules shortly or maybe before this letter gets to you. Please be sure and read them so we can all be on the same page.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday season. As one season ends another begins and golf season is upon us. We should have the upcoming golf schedule out soon but in the meantime start working on your game. Spend a little extra time working on your short game; it'll pay off when you hit the course.
2007 was a successful year and my staff and I are looking forward to an even better 2008. As most of you know Ian has left the staff to travel the globe. Ian has been around the golf club since he was a kid and he will be missed. We wish you the best Ian, Thanks. We're very excited to have Babs Givens joining our staff. Babs is an avid golfer, she's our Ladies Club Champion and former tennis director in Dallas for many years. She will be a great addition to the staff.
I would like to thank all of the golf boards for all of their hard work in 2007. We would like to remind all of our members that the shop is always open to any questions or concerns you may have. We're here to help make your golfing experience as good as it can be.

Well golfers, fall is right around the corner and we are winding down the tournament season. The ladies have just completed the WGA Club Championship, with Bab Givins claiming the title of Club Champion. Reta Brown, Suzy Pollard, Rosalie Kennedy, and Jewell Campbell won first in their respective flights. Sue Mumford claimed the senior title and Carita Schumacher won super senior. In the 9-Holers Martha Summerlin and Barbara Ward won first in their flights.
The WGA is now preparing for the Battle Of The Lakes. For those that don't know, the Battle of the Lakes is a Ryder cup style event pitting teams from Holly Lake and Hideaway in a two day golf match. One day each at Holly Lake and Hideaway with Holly Lake looking to defend their cup win from last year.
The MGA recently held their Member Guest tournament with positive results from Ben Enochs and Buddy Black as well as BC Fairchild and Ross Sather who were the winners in their respective flights. The guy's organization has just a few more events for their tournament season including the always popular Draft and the Presidents Classic.
Any golfers interested in dates for tournaments or MGA or WGA information there is a new info board posted next to the playday scoreboard outside the pro shop.
Also just a quick reminder that as of October 1st the cart path only rule for Sundays and Mondays goes back into effect. Any golfers over 70 and anyone with a State issued handicap sticker may still ride the fairways, just check in the shop to get your sticker.
