Collecting information on new residents at Holly Lake Ranch for the phone directory is an ongoing project. Every new resident is visited by Cynthia Webb, the HLR Welcome Lady, with a packet of helpful ranch materials. Included is a HLR Directory Form for new people to fill out and mail in, or a contact phone number or internet address to get themselves in the next directory, if they desire.
New residents are encouraged to find that form and make use of it!
Residents with information needing updated for the directory can contact me, Jeriann Bayley, at 903 769 5203, or send to: lee.radio@verizon.net
IF YOU CAME TO HLR AFTER SEPTEMBER, 2007, YOU ARE MOST LIKELY NOT IN OUR DIRECTORY DATABASE.

BLOOD DRIVE
Friday, February 27 8:30 - 2 in Holly Hall
Give for your heart. When you give blood, your cholesterol is checked…great news for your heart.
Our Holly Lake Blood Pool benefits Ranch & area residents and Ranch employees and their immediate families whenever blood is needed that is not paid for by insurance. If this need occurs, please call Gwen Parker or Mary Mack who will notify Carter Blood Care to release credit for the needed units.
Did you know?
· Each blood donor receives a T-Shirt
· Donors may give blood as often as every 56 days - Carter Blood Center in Tyler accepts donations to our HL Pool
· Need for blood is usually greater than the supply so you are encouraged to give as often as you can.
· An annual blood drive is needed because credit for donated units expires after one year.
· Any unused credits will benefit one or more persons in need of blood credits - often cancer or leukemia patients
· Giving blood is giving the gift of LIFE!
Eat well prior to donating & bring your driver's license

REMINDER: Friday the 13th is the final date for entry forms for GAME DAY.
Game Day 2009 is rapidly nearing and tables are in the process of being created. A fund-raiser to benefit the Holly Community Library, Game Day has become an annual event. Game players in all venues--from multiple card games, dominoes, and mahjongg, which is sweeping the Ranch--are invited to take part in this fun activity.
Dixie Marsh, coordinator and creator of Game Day, has determined that Friday, February 20 will be declared “Game Day 2009” and will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Holly Tree Chapel. Playing hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m and fee for the day is $25.00 per person.
Coffee and snacks will be available in the morning and tea and coffee in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided during the noon hour and door prizes will be awarded at that time. In addition, a raffle will also be held for a pink Kitchen Maid mixer and a Mahjongg set with a custom-made case by Holly Lake resident Don Stokesbury, a master craftsman. Tickets will be available for these two items at the door for $1.00 per ticket or six for $5.00.
Game players are urged to assemble tables of four or six, depending on your game of choice. Players who wish to play but are unable to create tables can contact Darlene Mahanay at 903.769.9985. Darlene will help to find table partners for anyone wishing her help. Plus, anyone wishing to donate a door prize can do so by calling Evelyn Myers at 903.769.9941.
An entry form is available with this issue of the Herald. Additional entry forms may be picked up at the Library. Plan to participate in a fun day that benefits a wonderful addition to our neighborhood, the Holly Community Library.
New look to hollylakeranch.com is coming mid February
Our current website software vendor has decided not to support their product any more. The software has performed very well for us, however it is tough to sleep at night knowing it is no longer a supported product. To avoid potential problems in the future- we decided to make a change now. The software we selected has more features, a cleaner appearance, with it's drop down menus it is more user friendly and most important - it is supported.
A majority of the existing site has been converted and it can be viewed in a temporary site. Our plan is to run both website's (new and old) for about two weeks and then overlay the old site with the new site around the middle of February. Future access to the website will remain the same - hollylakeranch.com.
This August will be the website's 5th anniversary. The site has been a continual “work-in-process” with many improvements coming from user suggestions. We greatly appreciate your assistance in keeping the site current, and we look forward to future suggestions.
