=====================================
(Revised 2/6))
According to Ann….
Click, Click, Talk, Talk. These two combinations do not work. Due to my
not planning ahead, the combination of a golf meeting, people eating lunch
and Mah Jongg players, the conditions were not at their best. I did not give
Diane, Manager of the Fore Seasons, a heads-up on how we should be set
up. Between the two of us, hopefully, February's meeting will be easier for
everyone to hear. My apologies to you and my thanks to Diane and her
staff for their excellent service in serving so many of us. We will also have
February's meeting at the Fore Seasons beginning at 1:00 p.m.-golf or not.
My appreciation goes to all of you for attending.
There was a unanimous vote to move the tee box on #14 back to its original
position. This location is where the men's gold tee box is now located. In
talking with Twila Wanker, President of the 9 Holers, I understand the 9
Holers also voted to move the tee box to its original position. Twila and I
will present this to the Green's Committee at the meeting on Friday,
February 13th.
The suggestion box located outside the ladies restroom at the Pro Shop is
back in operation. Cards and pencils are available for your convenience
inside the restroom. This is for use by the 9 and 18 Holers. Twila and I will
periodically review all suggestions and take whatever steps necessary to
address these suggestions. We will treat them with respect and importance.
We are in the process of studying the viability and procedures necessary in
order to conduct our first Wood County Benefit Tournament. This will be an
effort in conjunction with the 9 Hole golfers. Carol Kuntzman and Janie
Johnson will represent the 9 Holers. Deanie Westfall and Jackie Krantz will
represent the 18 Holers. These individuals will be responsible for setting
the parameters for the tournament. We have chosen Helping Hands as our
benefactor this year. Our hopes are to annually conduct this Tournament
in order to benefit one of our local charitable organizations.
At the Green's Committee Meeting, Clayton reported the drainage problem
that exists on #11 is planned to be completed by May. The next major
undertaking will be filling the drainage ditch on Hole 7. Completion date is
contingent upon the weather. The washed out area on #5 will be filled with
rocks at the same time #7 is done. An acceptable bid by Lee's Tree Service
will allow all the trees between the cart path and the green on Hole #5 to be
trimmed.
A directive has been issued to the Marshall to enforce cart and course rules.
Appropriate penalties are to be assessed-whether it be a warning or a fine.
These rules are necessary in order to keep our course in the best condition
possible. Let's all help remind each other of the rules. After all, age could
be a factor!
